Ex Quilliamite Reveals WhiteHall Backing!
I have received a testimonial of a former Quilliamite Ashraf ul Hoque who has now seen what they truly represent and wants to spill the beans! Here is his letter that he sent exclusively to the traditionalislamism site.
What makes this revelation all the more powerful is that it comes from a close friend of Maajid who has a liberal disposition
Since Ashraf wasn’t compliant enough new recruits are being sought directly using a government website.
Here is the letter that Ashraf sent me providing the reasons for his resignation

Salam wa aliakum,
Thank you for responding.
Bro, Maajid is a friend of mine and has been for over 10 years. I disagree with his politics and he is more than aware of those disagreements. That’s as far as it goes – I see no problem in that, certainly not enough to render him unworthy of my friendship.
As far as clarifying my position: in brief, I agreed to write for the Quilliam Foundation as I was under the pretense that this was an independent think-tank to voice Muslim grievances to the powers that be - a platform for resistance. As events unfolded, I gradually ascertained that this was not the case. That, in reality, the causes of extremism was not the agenda (i.e., social marginalisation, foreign policy, racism etc), but rather it was the symptoms (and quite a rudimentary analysis at that!). I realised that QF had no intention of criticising government policy pertaining to the causes of radicalsiation but focused instead in trying to become the de facto Muslim lobby in the U.K., overly concerned with “wrapping the knuckles of the community” in an attempt to please Whitehall. This aim cannot be justified, in my opinion, as the QF has thus far garnered negligible grassroots support at best and therefore does not represent the Muslim community in this country. Furthermore, words and actions of certain individuals of that organisation are inflammatory, superfluous and irrelevant to issues pertaining to countering religious extremism/radicalisation and could potentially pose as an unwarranted obstacle to social cohesion.
I have never argued for anything other than what I have stated in this e-mail. The two articles that I did write for QF does not contradict the above, they were written while I was still “hopeful” of the outcome of events. In any case, I stand by what I wrote (to be honest, I’m surprised they ever published them as they contradict their ethos!) As soon as I began to harbour doubts towards the organisation, I ceased writing until QF clarified my reservations (at this point I was still commissioned to write two more articles which i refused to until I was satisfied with their strategy). Eventually, QF’s explanation did not suffice for me and I decided to resign my post.
I would like to state that I do not claim to be an expert in Islamic theology, nor to posses the ability to prescribe religious law, nor am I what some would consider to be a “practising Muslim” – like us all, I am a sinner, maybe the biggest of sinners, Allah alone reserves the right to redeem me for those sins – I am under no obligation to explain or justify my personal acts to anyone else. I am, however, an anthropologist, and I will continue to research and write on issues relating to religious identity and radicalisation among Muslims in Britain – I implore you to engage with the objective arguments of these writings instead of my personal character. (I am aware that your blog was not responsible for smearing Maajid and for that akhlaq I appluad you).
I aim to produce a more elaborate and nuanced article regarding the critique of QF in the near future. At the moment I’m trying to finish my thesis, which, as you can imagine, takes up a significant proportion of my time. Once I have completed the critique, I will inevitably disclose it to you.
Finally, I would like to thank you again for your humility and patience. If you require my assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Your brother
Ashraf-ul Hoque

Alhamidullah Wonderful News!
Finally alhamidullah we have an official response from the first scholarly body in the UK on this heretical cult called the Quilliam Foundation. This has been signed by none other than Shiekh Suhaib Hassan himself and Furqan Bin Mahmood from the Islamic Sharia Council!
Here is the link
http://clarifyislam.wordpress.com/
Also here is an interesting section from the fatwa.
As a Muslim we should know that our religion is perfect without any imperfection as Allah says; “this day, I have perfected your religion for you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion”
Therefore, belittling them or calling them as out-of-date constitutes disbelief as Allah says;
“Then do you believe in part of the scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.”7
Here is another excerpt from the fatwa
Denying Allah the right of Lawgiver means he has taken someone else as partners besides Allah who has the right to determine how this individual should conduct his life. The one who does not recognises Allah as his Master to govern him then surely he has found another god to administrate him. He is a clear disbeliever outside the fold of Islam.
In other words Ed Hussein and his side kicks have commited disbelief! We must remember that Usama Hassan has called us liars for labelling this foundation as heretical.
May Allah reward Shiekh Shuhaib Hassan for his bravery! Ulema of this country, it is now time for you to protect your deen and follow in the same righteous path that our Shiekh has taken. Come out in the open and disown them and follow the examples of great Ulema like Sarkhasi, Ibn Taymiaah, Iz Deen Abdul Salaam, Juwayni, Nawawi and others…..
“Shiekh al Shieukh” Usama Hassan and the Marriage Contract.
Prepare yourselves for this
Usama Hassan our so called “representative” shouts out from his podium
Too many fathers have abused their right of wilayah (guardianship) over their daughters and too many husbands have abused their right of initiating divorce for us to continue with law rooted in patriarchal societies. It is high time that Muslim women enjoy the same rights and freedoms under Islamic law as they do under present legal systems in the UK.
Ok everyone lets give this man a “standing ovation”. Now we have this heretic telling us about our religion. Supposedly we have to push forward those rights and freedoms under Islamic Law that are present in the legal systems in the UK! Well that is great Usama. It is amazing. These modernists and secularists want to tell us the Muslims about our religion? When it comes to clear cut issues like the Hijab, they bring up some exotic twisted reference and insist that we must accept the “mosaic” of Islam and its different schools of thought. Now they bring up this contract and say it represents Islam! As if it is Qati and everything else is patriarchal! Subhan Allah, yet this contract, goes against the vast majority if not all of the Islamic scholarship! Now I am not here to discuss the merits of the case here or there. My concern is with blatant double standards!
No Usama we dont need you or your friends from the arch secularist Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui to your heretical buddies in the Quilliam Foundation and the City Circle. Alhamidullah we have our traditions from the Salaf and those who sincerely followed them!
JIMAS wants to give a platform to this man?
Abdul-Rehman Malik’s Reply
Here is the initial reply that I received from Abdul Rehman Malik following the incident in Egypt.

JIMAS Responds
There are some standard letters going around that seem to clarify the situation. Unfortunately we have been able to get hold of a full version of the initial response. In fact a certain brother asked them about the secular stand of the Quilliam Foundation and of course Usama Hassan .
This is their response in full

From brother,
Innal hamdalillah was-salat was-salam ‘ala rasulillah.
1. JIMAS is NOT an affiliate of any organisation,
whether MCB, Quilliam Foundation or anything else.
2. JIMAS has not taken part in any meetings with
the Quilliam Foundation nor signed any agreements.
3. Abu Muntasir personally has not had an
opportunity yet to provide any advisory role with
anyone from the Quilliam Foundation.
In light of your email, your advise is requested
on two matters:
a. What you know about these “secularists”. Why
and how they are secularists?
b. How you see only harm for the Muslims should they
start to accommodate them. How should Muslims deal
with them according to the Deen?
JazakumAllahu khairan.
Wassalam ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah.

What is very worrying is the response in point a.! They are referring to Usama Hassan and the Quilliam Foundation. Now, why oh why would they doubt such an obvious thing? Why do they have to muddy the water with the Quilliam Foundation and those who support them by giving a “relative” standard undergraduate response to the accusation. You see, according to whoever responded Secularism is in the eye of the beholder , or shall we say (to be more accurate) in the eyes of our social constructs! If the Quilliam Foundation is muddy than we really do have a problem.
Finally we have Hamza sending an email and suddenly his name is taken off! I have confirmed the sequence of events with the Hamza himself. Now they claim that they wanted to make him a special guest! How in the world does that even address the issues he brought up? It seems a very strange response and if I didnt have Husn al Dhunn someone seems to be backtracking on a rash decision
Unfortunately like Usama Hassan, this response did not clarify things at all! Why cant they simply say that the Quilliam Foundation does not represent Islam? What is their position on Usama’s heresies? We wait for further clarification…
