About us
We are a group of Muslims from different backgrounds . We also have joint input from a variety of Muslim groups who are influenced by different schools of thought including the Deobandi, the Brewali, Salafi, and brothers that follow Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayyah, the Haba’ib, and others. There is also quite a lot of discussion on this site of the views of Shiekh Taqi Deen Nabahani in view of the history of the Quilliam Foundation. We do this because we believe that this party, Hizb ut Tahrir, is a red herring that is used to push forward a certain agenda that is closely linked to think tanks like Policy Exchange and CIVITAS. It is also linked to the agenda of “Neo-Cons” like Michael Gove.
Our aim is to unite the British Muslims against this current trend aimed at demonizing and reforming our religion with the use of fronts like the Quilliam Foundation.
We must stress that this site, however, is against all acts of terrorism irrespective of faith and does not seek to establish Islamic law or an Islamic State in Britain. We view ourselves as a Muslim minority in this country and it is our duty to obey the laws of this land. We are inspired by people like Shiekh Abdullah Bin Bayyah, someone who we regularly use in our refutations, and we also have interest in his understanding of Muslim minorities. One must remember to treat others as we wish to be treated ourselves as mentioned in a well-known hadith and this imperative is applicable to both Muslims and Non-Muslims as stated by the great Imam Nawawi.
We are also not responsible for any other site or Facebook group that maybe set up independently to support us, although we deal with our brothers and sisters in the manner that the Prophet (saw) advised by encouraging what is good and disagreeing in what is forbidden in Islam. Finally we stress, that we are not responsible for the views of the comments on any of our articles on this blog and we try as hard as possible to allow as many different views as possible.
Assalamualaikum
My name is Y.Abdullah from South India.
Had a chance go through your site, astonishly its superb not just because of contents exposing ‘think-tanks’like Quilliam, promoted, funded, sponsored by British Govt but also investigate/rebutting their claims in a rational and objective manner. We know what kind of persons Ed Husain,Maajid Nawaaz and their likes are.
But my main focus is that,i used to know about their activites from British nedia, newsgroups and ofcourse Doha Debates, but alarmingly one of India’s national newspapers leftist/communist in outlook viewed as best daily, had their UK correspondent,Hasan Suroor who himself a muslim by birth, related to one of the leading Indian Muslim lawyer and member of Law Commission of India, but turned atheist/communist who is now in mid 50-60s lives at Kingsley Mews,Kensington,London, reported in an article demonizing islamic movements which is quite usual but also praising and highlighting so-called achievements of persons related to Quilliam. This is pretty dangerous in fact their ideas are being fed into places where they are complete strangers and they are being mentioned as Moderate Muslims as role models for muslims where they are in minority like India.

It is there sole aim and plan to degrade Islam down to a set concept that is palatable to them – much like Chritianity. They want to take the essence of what makes Islam a religion of justice and peace and reduce it to a mere cultural association relegated to the house. They will try to turn unsuspecting Muslims into ‘moderates’ and non-Muslims into thinking they are ‘Muslims’. The muppets and puppets of this grand scheme come from all circles, but best as brown-faced so-called Muslims or Ex-Muslims. They will entrap, entice and pursue those with authority and without to turn against their brethren. They will be scripted, promoted, profiled for PR with some of the best media machines available. They will be supplied with funds, donations, flights and accomodations. They will follow their masters plans. The whole plan, obvious from the words, actions and support by Islamophobes, is a clear sign of hate towards Islam itself.
They plan and Allah also plans, and Allah is the best of planners.

Salam,
I don’t know how to contact you so posting my it here..
Will it be possible for you guys to refute the new report that has come out: Contextualising Islam in Britain?
(document can be found here: http://www.cis.cam.ac.uk/CIBP.html – on the right hand side of the page)
Here are some quotes from the report:
“It is important to avoid the confusion, to which many young Muslims have fallen
victim, between the sovereignty of God as a metaphysical and theological concept
and the discussion of issues relating to human political authority.” (page 73)
“It is important to reclaim the original meaning of khilafah – as a code of
ethics of individual and collective moral responsibility (“vicegerency”) rather than as
a structure of political authority (“caliphate”).” (P.73)
“In the modern period, democratic multiculturalism is the
best framework within which to fulfill the Islamic imperative of holding power to
account.” (p.74)
“Islam frowns on the act of apostasy, but prohibits discrimination against apostates.
Much classical Islamic law on apostasy emerged in a historical context where apostasy represented a betrayal of the state. It is important to say quite simply that people have the freedom to enter the Islamic faith and the freedom to leave it.” (p.75)
“Islam puts no limitations on the roles that women should be able to play in any particular field of
employment, for example as government Ministers or in any other arena of
leadership.”
“For Muslims living as a minority in a secular liberal democracy, applying the Shari¢ah is a matter of personal conscience or communal moral suasion rather than legal sanction.” (p.75)
“In madrasahs, the study of Islamic law (fiqh) needs to be placed alongside a study of
theology (kalam) and Islamic philosophy (falsafah), with all regarded as important
disciplines.”
(p.76)
“Islamic teachings also recognize the naturalness of love of one’s country, or patriotism, that may feed into an active commitmentto make a positive difference as a citizen.” (p.76)
“While all British citizens have every right to disagree with the political choices of theirown government, British soldiers also deserve the support of the citizenry for
the difficult work that they do.” (p.76)
“While the specific religious doctrines adopted by these groups have
been used to motivate and incite violence, it is also to be noted that a majority of
people who share similar doctrines (such as radical Salafism) have also chosen not
to resort to violence.” (p.24)
“As part of this ethical turn, it is important to reclaim the notion of khilafah, which
can be translated as both “vicegerency” and “caliphate”. For most Muslims, it means
an Islamic system of government. But in classical Islamic theology, the word has never
meant statehood. It is important to reassert its original meaning of the moral responsibility
and vicegerency of all human beings before God.” (p.33)

‘Contexualising Islam in Britain’ was originally the plan for a “Board of Islamic Scholars” that was proposed in July 2008. I would not be surprised if this report is used to try and get that off the ground. But I wonder which half-credible sell-outs would be on it!?

I note that the people who drew up this report include those with Quilliam connections such as Usama Hasan, Musharaf Hassan and, interestingly, Abu Muntasir!

Grand Mufti of Bosnia, Mustafa Ceric, has done the forward to this document.
“Most of all, I warmly commend this report to you, the reader, in the hope that you also will draw a benefit from it and use it as a base for building bridges of mutual respect and understanding between all communities in our increasingly plural societies.”

Now that QF has been exposed as part of the Government’s spying scheme – and Ed is not a bit embarrassed about supporting this – perhaps all the brothers and sisters here can try asking the remaining ‘advisers’ to QF to resign, such as Musharraf Hussain?
Usama Hasan is not listed as an adviser now, but he hasn’t said what his current position is. Perhaps he could be asked to clarify matters?
